We founded Vitality Assisted Living because of a deep desire to provide an answer for helping our growing aging population to thrive in a way that will allow them to live with a PURPOSE and VITALITY instead of just going somewhere to exist.
The desire was heightened even further after experiencing firsthand the disappointing care that our own grandparents received in their final years, as they struggled with their own health issues and autoimmune diseases that were never truly addressed. Other than just trying to mask symptoms, nothing was ever done to try and look at the root causes.
After viewing countless facilities, it became apparent that very few could be considered adequate substitutes for home despite that being what most prospective residents and their families are seeking. We vowed to find a core solution to actually address what so many elderly patients are facing but not getting help with: immune system issues associated with aging, particularly the increased diagnosis of autoimmune diseases.
Kim Maes, one of our owners, is a Licensed Nutritionist who specializes in immune health and brain cognition, specifically for the aging population. She uses her 15 years of experience in this field to help keep our residents healthy, active, and full of energy with her nutrition and holistic-based approaches.
Our goal is always to create that loving environment in the most intimate setting and provide the residents in our care with the exact surroundings and attention that they would want their own family members, and themselves, to receive in their final years. Every decision we make for our business is based on the premise that if it is not good enough for our own family members it is not good enough for our residents.
We consider this a family business the whole way through. Our own teenage sons are actively involved and treat every resident as if they were their own grandparents. They are actively involved in our home and spend time forming bonds with our residents, playing games, making music, working on puzzles, doing crafts, reading, gardening, and forming friendships that bridge the generations.
We are passionate about creating a place that stands out from the other assisted living facilities in the valley and believe that making sure our residents feel like they are part of our own family is a crucial part of their happiness and essentially also their health and well-being.
Our own therapy dog, Quincy the Golden Doodle, even makes regular visits to spend time with our residents. Research shows that therapy dogs do a wonderful job of boosting spirits, eliminating depression, and providing companionship.
The ability to have something to pet or touch can result in lower blood pressure, normal heart rate, and reduced stress. Pets provide emotional stability during stressful situations, helping to reduce anxiety and depression. Some other benefits of pet therapy include:
Quincy loves his visits and looks forward to the time he spends forming bonds and making emotional connections with our residents.
